Delta Underwriting expands claims handling capacity

With increased demand for specialised insurance, innovative niche provider Delta Underwriting is introducing additional senior claims handling expertise, with the appointment of Sharna Garbett to the claims team. The additional capacity will further enhance the claims experience for Delta Underwriting customers.

The company’s Managing Director Eugene Cheong says “Today, I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Sharna Garbett, Senior Claims Handler and Broker Relationship Lead, who adds extensive experience to the team, and is highly regarded across the APAC region, for her rapid and satisfactory resolution of complex matters for our insureds.”

Garbett’s appointment is immediate, and she will lead the claims function in Singapore, with Daniel Khoo supporting her on claims administration. The Delta Underwriting Claims Team will continue to be headed by Group Claims Manager, Petra Lucioli.

With Delta Insurance New Zealand since 2016, Garbett’s career includes working in senior claims roles in London, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to claims, she manages intermediary relationships and delivers training and support on Delta’s products and claims processes.

“Handling claims effectively is the culmination of the insurance value proposition,” says Garbett. “I’m looking forward to working closely with our intermediaries and supporting the team in our claims service delivery to provide the best possible outcome for every insured.”

Cheong says that as a specialist underwriter for cyber and technology products, the rapidly evolving cyber risk landscape has resulted in added complexity to claims handling and the additional claims capacity has become necessary. I’m excited to welcome Sharna on board and look forward to enhancing our service in Singapore and rest of Asia.”
